Salute to the Seniors

To recognize their contributions to LCHS football, Lincoln Daily News is printing profiles of all 19 seniors involved with the Railer football program this year. Today is the first installment in the series; more profiles will be published Wednesday and Thursday to highlight all the senior players and managers who are part of the team.

Thank you to all the seniors involved in the program for their contributions this year. And thank you to the families of those seniors for helping support their seniors throughout this historic LCHS football season. Best of luck to all the seniors on their future endeavors.

Ally Battin

Position: Manager


Parents:
Tiffany Battin and Scott Battin of Middletown

Siblings:
Scotty Battin, age 19, lives in Joliet; Kamryn Battin, age 15, lives in Middletown

Future plans:
Nursing is the career I want to do after high school. I plan on going to a nursing college but I don't know which school yet.

Favorite musical artist/band:
Warren Zeiders

Favorite movie:
Hunger Games.

Favorite TV show:
The Good Doctor

Favorite quote:

Hobbies/interests:

Fishing, hanging out with friends and family

Role model:
My parents, Tiffany and Scott Battin, and my brother, Scotty Battin

Non-family influential/supportive people:
I would like to thank my grandparents, Linda and Marvin Miller. They have always come to any event that I have participated in.

Favorite memory of this football season:
The Jacksonville game because we all shared in the accomplishment and it will always stay with me

Advice to underclassmen in football program: Stay with it and don't give up.

Garrett Boward

Would like to work with my hands and stay busy later in my life

Advice to underclassmen in football program:
Stay focused and don't make dumb decisions. Stay committed and your opportunity will come.

Definitely Coach silkowski and all the coaches that have been there since the start of my high school football career; also the group of kids on the team

Crossing Camp and the game against Jacksonville; also all the practices with the team

Advice to underclassmen in football program:
Don't give up; keep working hard at the JV level. You never know when your name will be called to play varsity football on Friday nights. The progress you put in at practice and even in games doesn't go unnoticed by any of the coaches.

Attend college to study marketing and entrepreneurship and either play football or run track

Just keep working and don’t listen to the doubters and haters because they don’t know.
