On Friday afternoon the Balloons
Over 66 Weekend officially began with the ribbon
cutting ceremony held downtown at 1 p.m.
Those behind the ribbon included many of the
committee leaders who were responsible, along with a
large number of helpers and volunteers, for the
successful implementation of the sixth annual
Balloons Over 66 Weekend.

Friday evening was the first
official flight of the Balloons Over 66 weekend.
Thirty-three balloons launched from Open Arms Church
in the hare & Hound Race.
The second event of the weekend was held at 6 a.m.
on Saturday morning, and the third and final
ballooning events will be a combination launch and
glow this evening at Open Arms. Balloons will launch
around 6:30 p.m. and then return for the glow at
approximately 8 p.m.
There is ample parking at Open Arms, but bring lawn
chairs and blankets so you can get closer to the
action.
