[December 16, 2024]  The Lady Railers were led by three players in double-figures on Saturday afternoon as they defeated the Jacksonville Crimson 59-23 in the One Purpose Shoot-Out at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield.

Makinley Knapp, who was named Player of the Game, led Lincoln with 18 points.

Mia Clark tossed in 14 points and Lily Holmes contributed 11 points in the win.

First quarter

Lincoln was hot on offense from the tip-off, with Clark, Holmes and Knapp sinking the first three shots to guide the team to a 6-0 lead. After another putback off the rebound by Knapp and a three by Grace Schneider, the Lady Railers were rolling with an 11-1 lead. Knapp poured in five straight points to keep Lincoln on top 16-3. After Ceana Adams hit a three the lead increased to 19-3 and the Lincoln defense was wreaking havoc for the Crimson. The Crimson had far more turnovers than points at this early stage in the game and Lincoln kept scoring. Clark dropped in the last two Railer baskets of the quarter and Lincoln was on top 23-7.

Second quarter

The Crimson got a three ball to fall early in the second quarter and then it was all Lincoln on offense. The score went from 24-10 to 39-10 in the blink of an eye. Emma Hutchison and Holmes drained 3s while Clark made her presence felt in the lane with a trio of baskets. The Crimson would not sink another shot until a minute left in the quarter. When the eight minutes was over, Lincoln was on top 39-12.

Fourth quarter

How about a running clock to move the game along?!Rebecca Burge scored the only Lincoln basket in the quarter and with several freshmen getting in the game, Lincoln cruised to a 59-23 win.
