Lincoln, IL—This holiday season, families in
need in the 44th Senate District received a free turkey thanks to a
partnership between State Senator Sally Turner (R-Beason) and
Meridian Health Plan of Illinois.
“The holiday season is a time for giving and helping those in need,”
said Senator Turner. “I'm grateful to Meridian Health for their
generosity and the organizations working tirelessly to support our
neighbors in need. Together, we had the wonderful opportunity to
make the holidays brighter for so many families."
On Tuesday, December 17, Senator Turner delivered 150 donated
turkeys for families served by the Community Action Partnership of
Central Illinois (CAPCIL), Central Illinois Veterans Commission (CIVC),
and Dove Inc. in Clinton.
"We are incredibly thankful for the generous partnership with
Meridian and Senator Sally Turner, allowing us to provide free
turkeys to our Head Start families and community members this
holiday season,” said CAPCIL Chief Visionary Officer Breann Titus.
“The holidays can be a challenging time for some of our families,
and events like this help make the season a little brighter by
spreading warmth, gratitude, and nourishment to those we serve."
