Gregg A. Laurence, 69, of Lincoln, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

Gregg Allan Laurence was born January 27, 1954, in Rockford, the son of Gerald W. and Fern Pohl Laurence. He married Vicky Lewendowski on March 11, 1978 and they spent their next 45 years building a wonderful life and family together. Their family consists of their three children: Seth (Jessica) Laurence, Merideth (Wesley) Schrader, and Elizabeth Laurence; five grandchildren: Grace, Olive, Everett, Graham, and Audrey. He has two brothers: Larry (Jane) Laurence and Lance (Linda) Laurence; and one sister: Penny (Bob) Nunez.

Gregg graduated from Rockford Lutheran High School in 1971 and attended Rock Valley Junior College. He was a strong and loyal employee of Holland Trucking for 36 years. He attended Jefferson Street Christian Church and took pride in being a member of the safety team there. He enjoyed playing golf and pool, shooting guns, spending time with family, enjoying his grandkids and his dogs.

Funeral Director

Gregg was a deeply caring and giving husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbor. He instinctively exemplified the love of Christ to everyone he encountered. He maintained his sense of humor even in some especially difficult circumstances. But more than anything, he was and will always be loved and admired by his family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Street Christian Church. Officiants will be Mr. Michael Mallick and Mr. Mike Nichols. Bring photos, memories and stories to share.

Memorials may be made to Logan County Food Bank or Humane Society of Logan County.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home.
