Gibson
City native Jim Hood, a respected community leader and seasoned
business professional, is set to expand his board service. Having
served on the Bank of Gibson City’s board of directors for over two
decades, Hood brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his
new roles.
Hood’s journey is deeply rooted in the Gibson City community. After
graduating from the University of Illinois College of Business in
1982, he embarked on a successful career with State Farm Insurance
Companies, where he held key positions in Human Resources at both
the corporate headquarters and the Mountain States region.
In 1989, Jim and his wife, Amy, returned to Gibson City to take over
the operation of Hood’s Ace Hardware. Their commitment to the
community extended further when they acquired Mahomet Ace Hardware
in Mahomet, IL, in 2004. The couple’s dedication to local businesses
has left a lasting impact.
Beyond entrepreneurship, Hood has been an active
volunteer in health care. For two decades, he served as President of
the Board of Directors for Gibson Area Hospital and Health Services.
His leadership and passion for community well-being have been
instrumental in shaping the hospital’s success.
In 2003, Jim Hood joined the Bank of Gibson City’s board of
directors, continuing even after the original owners sold to the
Albins and Longview Capital Corporation. His unwavering commitment
to the bank’s growth and stability has been commendable.
Now, as he takes on new responsibilities, Hood expresses his
enthusiasm: “I’m excited to join the Board of Longview Community
Bank and Longview Capital Corporation as a Director and look forward
to working with this tremendous organization.”
Jim and Amy Hood celebrate 40 years of marriage and are proud
parents to three children: Adam, Kristen, and Joel. His active
involvement in the Gibson City Lion’s Club and the Gibson City
United Methodist Church underscores his dedication to community
service.
