Patriotic Family Fun the theme for
Mt. Pulaski Second Friday event tonight

The
Community Association of Mt Pulaski, along with the City of Mt
Pulaski, invites you and your family and friends to 2nd Friday on
the Square in Mt Pulaski on Friday, July 12 from 5 pm until 10 pm
(Jefferson St, Lafayette St and Cooke St). This month’s theme is
Patriotic Family Fun.
The vendor market, including handmade crafts, antiques, direct
sales, baked goods & sweet treats, food trucks, and more, opens at 5
pm. In addition, local businesses, including our restaurants and
bars, will be open for business as well.
July’s live music entertainment will begin at 6 pm with the Mt
Pulaski Community Band in the gazebo, followed by Daniel Neihoff on
the main stage on Lafayette St at 7 pm, sponsored by Mt Pulaski
Economic Development Planning Board.
Activities for all ages from 5 pm to 8 pm. Play yard
games including giant Connect 4, checkers, tic-tac-toe, and giant
Jenga at the Longview Community Bank tent. Take a ride down the
Bounce Slide, sponsored by Rise Broadband. Play some carnival games
with Zion Lutheran Church & School. Color a patriotic pinwheel at
the Community Association tent.
Come visit with the Row of Champions from Mt Pulaski Grade School
and Mt Pulaski High School sport teams. Then stop for a meet and
greet with Mr. Jason Spang, the new Superintendent of CUSD #23.
Join the fun at the Patriotic Pedal Parade at 6:30 pm. But first, a
contest to pick the Most Patriotic Entry based on overall appearance
of ride/rider and use of color, décor, and coverage. Decorate your
bicycle, tricycle, wagon, scooter, etc. and dress yourself up in
patriotic – red, white, and blue – style. No motorized vehicles for
this event.

Market on the Hill will host a
cooking contest with judging beginning at 6:15 pm. To
participate, stop by Market on the Hill to register and purchase
the designated ingredient - this month is cherry pie filling.
Make anything you want as long as it includes the designated
ingredient and bring your completed creation to the Market on
the Hill tent on Friday, July 12, between 5 pm and 6 pm to be
judged. Winner receives a Market on the Hill gift card and
bragging rights.
Visit the Community Association of Mt Pulaski tent on the corner
of Lafayette and Cooke streets where you can purchase tickets
for a chance to win a Family Fun Basket, a fundraiser for a
special event at Mt Pulaski’s Fall Festival in September.
