The basket that carried a retail value of more
than $600 was placed in the live auction where it brought in several
hundred dollars for the annual fundraiser.
In addition to participating in the Pub Craw basket, these same
businesses sat our pink pumpkin donation buckets at their cash
registers, encouraging guests to drop in their change or add a buck
or two as they prepared to leave the establishment.
Those donation buckets were then collected and counted by Lincoln
Daily News. In the end the buckets raised another $600 for the
American Cancer Society.
Two of the businesses worked hard encouraging their
guests to contribute, and in the own way holding a bit of a rivalry
as to which one would collect the most.
Because they worked so hard, Lincoln Daily News and the Friends and
Family Relay for Life team are giving them a little special
recognition. The Rusty Rail and their neighbor on Pulaski Street in
Lincoln the Alley Bi Saloon collected Approximately $175 and $130
respectively. Between the two, their total made up almost half of
all that was collected.
Thank you to all 15 participants.
