The Lincoln Railers boys soccer team hosted
Athens last Monday night and honored their eight seniors.
It was also the Kick Cancer game and the FC recognition night
for the youth program.
On the field, Lincoln and Athens ended in a 2-2 tie.
There was no JV game.
The Lincoln seniors recognized were: Alex Steffens, Soren Aukamp,
Aaron Roede, Payton Gannon, Riley Allison, Sam Stuckey, James
Brewer and Samuel Flener.
The players, their families and fans raised nearly $4,000 for
the family of Reese Lowery, as it was the team’s annual Kick
Cancer match. Lowery is battling a rare form of leukemia called
APML.
A 50/50 raffle, gift baskets, food and an always entertaining
pie in the face competition all contributed to the raising of
money towards Reese and his family.
Several up and coming Railer soccer players were also recognized
at halftime.
The future of Railer soccer, both boys and girls, looks good!
Congratulations to this year’s seniors!
