A
Heartland Community College music professor was invited deliver a
presentation at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, NY.
Dr. Afrim Shabani, Heartland Associate Adjunct
Professor in Humanities and Fine Arts, participated in a symposium
commemorating the 100th anniversary of Albanian diplomat, statesman,
and scholar Fan S. Noli.
Dr. Shabani delivered the presentation Noli’s
Research on History of Music: Beethoven and the French Revolution at
the symposium on Monday, September 9. The presentation is part of an
extensive and ongoing scholarly research project by Dr. Shabani
which explores the musicological process of Fan S. Noli's book
"Beethoven and the French Revolution."
Last year Dr. Shabani was named a Teacher of
Distinction by The Royal Conservatory of Music, one of the largest
and most respected music education institutions in the world. Among
the courses that Dr. Shabani teaches at Heartland are Piano, Music
Appreciation, and Jazz, Blues, and Rock & Roll.
