Brenda & Dave Banister with
great-grandson
Landon Kern.
This year's fall tractor show in New Holland was a
little smaller than last year, but still was filled with dedicated
tractor owners, and children jumping from tractor to tractor
imagining working on their grandpa’s land. There were many door
prizes, good food inside of Ollies, and lots of good conversations.
There was much more to do on this beautiful Saturday
morning, after a wonderful fulfilling breakfast at Ollie’s Diner &
Candy Shop, visitors could stroll over to the New Holland United
Methodist Church where Pastor Dawn Beavan, her husband Mark, her
90+-year-old father Wayne LaForge and Pam Garretson from the church
were having a basement sale.

Profits from this sale would go into the general
funds that would help support the children’s activities among other
things. There was much conversation in that basement about how old
is too old to be climbing grain bins, cleaning out gutters,
tractors, and tornadoes, and some great prices on some much-needed
canning jars!!
This year’s tractor parade was made possible with the
following participants:
-
Darren Haberland with a 1949 John Deere B
-
Donald Stanfield in a 1967 Oliver 1850
-
Larry Stanfield drove in 1967 IH 806
-
Ron Harvey in a 1969 Minneapolis Moline G900
-
Kevin Coers brought a 1948 Oliver 88 and a 1950
Oliver 77
-
Jim Hawes with a 2014 John Deere 1025 (not
present)
The door prizes went to:
-
Ron Harvey
-
Kevin Coers
-
Donald Standfield
The Tremont First National Bank in New Holland and
Annie Coers did another great job of organizing and sponsoring this
fun event.
