McEntire’s Home Appliance Receives Dealer of the Year Award at BrandSource 2024 Convention
Honored for commitment to excellence in the retail industry

McEntire’s Home Appliance of Lincoln was named the 2024 BrandSource Dealer of the Year for the Maytag Channel at the BrandSource National Convention & Expo, held Aug. 25-28, 2024, at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.

Owner and Maytag Channel Council member Carie Groves was honored at the buying group’s awards ceremony, which was a highlight of the annual show.

The company was launched in 1993 by Carie’s parents, Ron and Terri McEntire, former owners of a Sears catalog showroom, after the retailer pulled the plug on that division. But the shutdown would prove to be a blessing, as the couple went on to establish a successful Maytag appliance business that variously employed four generations of McEntires.

Besides her father, who taught her everything she knows about appliances and business, Carie attributes her company’s success to its membership in BrandSource. The national, dealer-owned cooperative offers a wide range of retail support services including transactional websites, digital marketing, in-store displays, consumer and inventory financing, volume discount programs and invaluable peer-to-peer networking, which became crucial as the internet and national big-box chains altered the retail landscape.

“AVB BrandSource has changed the way I do business and my sales have increased dramatically,” Carie said. “I have only been with the group for a short six years, but of my 29 years in business, these have been the best.”

The BrandSource Dealer of the Year awards are presented annually to members like McEntire’s Home Appliance that have demonstrated a continued commitment to excellence in the retail industry and to their fellow BrandSource dealers. The winners, who are selected by the members within each of the group’s 14 regions, must also show their support of BrandSource and its vendor partners by attending regional meetings and national events such as the annual Convention and Summit.

A hearty congratulations to Carie and her dad Ron, to whom she said she owes the award, as well as the entire McEntire family on being named a BrandSource Dealer of the Year.
