Lincoln Emblem Club announces 2025 scholarship winners

[April 04, 2025]   Lincoln Emblem Club #433 is pleased to announce the 2025 scholarship winners!!! Any child, grandchild, niece, or nephew of a Lincoln Emblem Club member is eligible for the club scholarship. The first place winner also competes for additional scholarships at the WIIM State Associations of Emblem Clubs level and at the national Supreme Emblem Club level.

The 2025 first place winner is Molly Johnson. Molly is the daughter of Emblem Club members Jennifer Johnson and granddaughter of Holly Woodhall. Molly has been awarded a $2000 scholarship in honor of Lee Rust, a devoted member of the Lincoln Emblem Club. Lee was a strong advocate for education and generously supported the scholarship fund for numerous years.

Molly is a senior at Thomas Kelly High School in Benton, Missouri where she participated in many extracurricular clubs and activities as well as being involved with softball and chorus, all while maintaining a high grade point average. Among the honors she has earned are Academic All-State recognition in softball, membership in the Missouri Director’s Honor Choir, and participation in Missouri Girls State. Molly has completed twenty-four college credits as part of her high school studies. Molly will attend Southeast Missouri State college for her bachelor’s degree and then Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville for her Doctorate in Pharmacy.
 


Erin Peterson receives a $1500 scholarship. Erin is the daughter of Emblem Club members Brittney Peterson and granddaughter of Mitzie Welsh. Part of this award honors Diane Farmer, an Emblem Club member with years of local and state service. This scholarship extends Diane’s spirit of giving and helping our future generations.

Erin is a returning scholarship winner. She is in her first year at Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, Missouri after completing two years at Lincoln Land Community College. Erin is pursuing her interests in art by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Animation. Erin is currently working at the Beals Studio for Art where she provides instruction and mentoring. In addition, she works as a gallery assistant at the KCAI Gallery.

Jillian Toth is also a returning scholarship winner earning a $1000 scholarship. Jillian is the granddaughter of Emblem Club member Cindy Veselak. Jillian is a junior at Monmouth College working towards a double major in psychology and sociology/anthropology. Jillian has not only made it to the dean’s list but is also a member of the track team. She currently holds the 23rd rank among D-3 colleges in weight throwing. Additionally, she participates in a work-study program as a rock wall belayer.

Lincoln Emblem Club is beyond proud of these winners and wishes them continued success throughout their college career and beyond.
