The Paige Family celebrates all the “Bee’s” businesses at its annual open house

[April 06, 2025]

Around Lincoln, when folks speak of going out to Bee’s or having Bee’s work on a project for them, most everyone knows that the target subject is the Paige family who have a variety of businesses located at 1302 State Route 10 East on the edge of Lincoln, most of them beginning with the word “Bee’s.”

Lorrie Paige will tell you she is Bee, and the first Bee business was her floral shop named Bee’s Floral. In 2026 Bee’s Floral will celebrate its 40th year of business in Lincoln. But there are a couple of other Bee’s as well.

Thirty-two years ago the Paige’s added Bee’s Landscaping taking the indoor flower shop into a new realm. Lorrie Paige found her true talents were in turning ordinary outdoor spaces into remarkable landscapes that were appreciated by her clientele.

This year, marks the 20th anniversary of the third Bee’s business, Bee’s Cub Cadet. It was a natural progression. Once customers had an exceptional landscape, they would need top notch equipment to keep those lawns spiffy.

This past Saturday, Bee’s celebrated all three of the businesses with its annual open house. The event was well attended with folks who stopped in just to say hello to their friends the Paige's. Lorrie (aka Bee), Darrell and Daniel Paige spent the morning greeting their guests and sharing stories of the past near 40 years.

Some folks also stopped in as an opportunity to take a first look at a piece of lawn equipment they might plan to buy this year. Bee’s offers a good variety of mowers and lawn tractors along with some other neat outdoor toys.

The mention of other outdoor toys brings us to the fourth business owned and operated by the Paige’s and the only business that’s name does not begin with “Bee’s.” RDJ Hobbies and Raceway is the go-to location in Lincoln for radio controlled racing. From a variety of remote controlled vehicles to parts and also a magnificent racetrack on the north edge of the property, the fourth and final business is all about outdoor toys and making time to play.

So, if you’ve never made it out to Bee’s this might be a good time to check them out. While the open house is now passed, the willingness to serve their customers is always an utmost priority for the Paige’s. Stop in and say hello, they’ll be happy to see you!
