Children collect 28,000 eggs at
JSCC Easter Egg Hunt
[April 15, 2025]
Sunday, April 13 Jefferson Street
Christian Church hosted an Easter Egg hunt with 28,000 eggs on the
field just past the church.
Last year, JSCC had an indoor Easter Egg hunt on a much smaller
scale with around 3,000 eggs. It was part of their Journey to the
Cross, which the church will be hosting again this year on Good
Friday.

Many volunteers had filled the eggs
with candy and hidden them all over the field. JSCC volunteer Levi
Farar said they hid 28,000 eggs and had a pretty good turnout, but
hopes to have even more kids next year.

Before the hunt began, many families were anxiously waiting for it
to start. When they had counted down from ten, the hunt began with
hundreds of children running to find eggs.

The field was split into several
different sections with one area for birth through three, one for
kindergarten and first grade, one for second and third grade, and
one for fourth and fifth grade. There was also a section for
children with special needs.

A few lucky kids got shirts
that were shot out of a small t-shirt cannon.

The Easter Bunny was also there for
photo opportunities and got hugs from some of the kids.

After kids had filled their baskets
with eggs, families were welcomed into the fellowship hall for
hotdogs, chips and drinks served by JSCC preacher Michael Mallick
and other volunteers.
Even with the high winds, it was a great sunshiny day for an Easter
Egg hunt.
