The Mount Pulaski Lady Toppers improved to 5-0 on Tuesday
night with a 67-21 win over Cerro Gordo.
Elayna Marten led the team with 18 points and Alyson Murphy added 16
points for Mount Pulaski.
After the Broncos scored the first basket of the game, the Lady
Toppers went on a 30-0 run.
Mount Pulaski led 24-2 after the first quarter. The Lady Toppers
were led in scoring by Alyson Murphy with nine points here.
Elayna Marten led the team with eight points in the second quarter
as Mount Pulaski stormed out to a 44-12 lead.
By the end of the third quarter, Mount Pulaski’s lead was 65-15 and
the starters were done scoring.
Mackenzie Johnston scored Mount Pulaski’s only basket in the fourth
quarter, a layup bringing the team to 67 points.
Cerro Gordo won the JV contest 31-25.
Mackenzie Johnston led the JV team with 17 points.
Mount Pulaski will play at Monticello tonight. The JV game will
start at 5:30 p.m. and the Varsity will tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
