Metamora tops Lady Railers 52-37

[December 11, 2025]  A rough fourth quarter doomed the Lady Railers on Wednesday night as the Metamora Redbirds walked away with a 52-37 win on Neil Alexander Court.

The Redbirds led the game 17-12 after the first quarter. Lincoln got seven points from senior Mia Clark and a three from Mesa McCloud to lead the offense early.

By halftime Lincoln’s uphill battle got steeper, as the Lady Railers trailed 26-18.

A solid third quarter gave the fans high hopes. Clark drained two 3s and added a two-point field goal that closed the gap to 32-30. Paisley Holmes also sparked the comeback with two buckets. McCloud’s two free throws at the end of the quarter trimmed the Redbirds lead to 35-34.

That rough fourth quarter started with a quick 8-0 run by the Redbirds that escalated to a 14-0 run as Lincoln’s basket was sealed tight. Paisley Holmes finally scored for Lincoln on the steal and layup. She was also fouled and sank the ‘and one’ but it was a little too late to make much of a difference. The clock was already down to 44.3 seconds left in the game. The Redbirds would score the remaining points in the game and Lincoln had to settle for a 52-37 loss.

Mia Clark led Lincoln with 17 points.

The Lady Railers fall to 7-2 on the season.

Metamora won the JV game 40-37. Emma Hutchison led the Lady Railers with 12 points and Elizabeth Chen added 11 points.

Lincoln will play Rochester at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday night in the Springfield UIS Shootout.
