Coach Aaron Fricke resigns at
Warrensburg-Latham, accepts head football position at Lincoln Community
High School
[December 17, 2025]
Official Statement from Coach Aaron Fricke on Transition
from Warrensburg-Latham to Lincoln as head football coach:
“It is a very bittersweet feeling to be leaving my home here at WL
and returning to my hometown of Lincoln. The last eight years and
seasons I have spent here have created some of the most special
moments of my life. I am proud to recognize the fact that our staff
finishes with the 2nd most wins in school history (35) and the
second highest winning % in school history. We finished 2024 with
the third best season finish in school history, broke countless
records, and much more. But more than anything I will miss the
FAMILY environment we created here, not in words but in actions. We
consistently averaged 45 players on the roster every single year,
which at a school this size shows the type of culture we created.
Leaving behind a playoff ready group of seniors next season was
extremely hard - but I look forward to watching and tracking their
success. I want to thank everyone who believed in me at WLHS,
including my administration - Ken Hatcher, Craig Olson, Jonathan
Downing, Bret Reedy, and Allison Nolen. Most importantly, thank you
to my students, players, and coaches that made this chapter of my
life special. WL will always hold a place in my heart.

At the same time I can’t explain the excitement and
gratitude I feel for Lincoln allowing me to come back home.
Returning to give back to the football program, the school, and the
community that helped shape me into who I am. I see a team with a
solid core of younger players who logged a lot of varsity minutes
last year. I see a JFL with good numbers and talent moving through.
I also am impressed with all of the facility upgrades that Lincoln
has been making both in the school and for athletics, and I think
that will only continue. I know the obstacles, I am from here and
played here. But I also learned and know what it takes to build a
program that hasn’t traditionally had success, and I look forward to
the challenge of the Railers now being fully back in the CS8
conference.. I want to thank AD Neil Alexander and Principal Helm at
Lincoln for this opportunity. As everyone keeps telling me - once a
Railer, always a Railer! GO RAILERS!”
