Coroner’s Office
[December 26, 2025]
The Illinois State Police and
Logan County Coroner’s Office are investigating the In Custody Death
of Richard K. Saunders, 66, of Guttenberg, Iowa. Mr. Sanders was in
the custody of the Illinois State Police. Mr. Saunders was
transported by EMS from the scene to a Lincoln Memorial Hospital
where he was pronounced deceased on December 22, 2025 at 0034 hours.
Autopsy has been performed awaiting toxicology reports.
