Historic Site will host a series of fireside chats on Wednesdays and

through Feb. 26 in the visitors’ center. Visitors will be led on a
guided walk to one of the historic homes, where they will gather
around the fireplace as interpreters share stories of New Salem and
its residents, including Lincoln, who lived in New Salem long before
he went on to become the nation’s 16th president.
Guests are encouraged to dress accordingly as these events will take
place regardless of weather conditions. Fireside chats will last
