Morton, IL - The Los Angeles wildfires of
January 2025 have engulfed over 40,000 acres, destroyed thousands of
homes, and displaced countless families. As California faces one of
its most challenging crises, relief efforts are ramping up to meet
urgent needs.
Midwest Food Bank Steps Up
Midwest Food Bank is actively mobilizing to provide food, water, and
essential resources to wildfire victims. With disaster relief
headquartered in Morton, IL, Midwest Food Bank is leveraging its
national network of warehouses to ensure swift and effective
distribution. Midwest Food Bank Arizona division will serve as a
crucial distribution point, coordinating efforts to deliver supplies
to impacted areas across California.
Lisa Martin, Midwest Food Bank Chief Financial Officer, emphasizes
the importance of community support: “The best thing we can do right
now is remain flexible and ready to respond. Every donation makes an
impact in helping families recover from this tragedy.”
Partnering for Maximum Impact
Collaboration is key in large-scale relief efforts. Midwest Food
Bank is working closely with nonprofit partners to distribute food,
water, and other drinks directly to affected communities. These
partnerships ensure that resources reach those who need them most,
including shelters and aid stations set up for displaced residents.
Preparing for Long-Term Recovery
As rebuilding efforts begin, Midwest Food Bank will adjust its
response to provide additional resources tailored to the evolving
needs of wildfire victims. Ongoing food distribution, hygiene
supplies, and community support are consistently provided.
