At the Monday night voting session of the Lincoln City Council, aldermen were given a new version of the Lincoln Office of Tourism logo. Director of Tourism Scott McCoy said that they had gotten a lot of feedback from the original design and had altered it according to the comments of the community.

He said many were not fond of the “cartoonish” Abraham Lincoln. So the new logo features a more serious version of the 16th president. He noted that the Lincoln profile included the beard but not the stove pipe hat.

McCoy also noted to the group that the logo can be colorized according to need and to fit into the general aesthetic of the marketing tool it is placed in.

Aldermen agreed that they liked the new version better. Therefore the vote to approve the logo was for the new version and not the one that was discussed at the last Committee of the Whole meeting.
