Logan County Fair “Night of
Thunder” Roars Into Lincoln Speedway This Friday Night
[July 31, 2025]
LINCOLN, IL (July 30, 2025) — The sights, sounds, and speed
of dirt track racing return to the Logan County Fairgrounds this
Friday night, August 1st, as Lincoln Speedway hosts the “Night of
Thunder” in conjunction with the Logan County Fair. The evening
promises thrilling action from multiple DIRTcar divisions, making
for one of the fair’s most anticipated attractions.
Headlining Friday’s program are the high-powered DIRTcar Modifieds,
with a strong points battle brewing. Mason City, IL’s Austin Lynn
currently leads the standings with a 20-point cushion over Ashland,
IL’s Brandon Roberts. Veteran and many-time track champion Brian
Lynn sits third, while Carter Sinkhorn and Justin Coffey round out
the competitive top five. Fans can expect an intense battle as these
drivers chase the Logan County Fair victory.

Also on tap are the DIRTcar Sportsman, making their fourth
appearance of the season. Colby Eller, of Taylorville, IL, has been
the class’s most consistent competitor, notching a win and three
top-five finishes. Feature wins have also gone to Ed Cleeton and Guy
Taylor, making the division one of the most unpredictable and
exciting of the summer.
The popular and fast-growing Crown Vics return for the first time
since their impressive 20+ car showing during the DIRTcar Summer
Nationals. Aidan Crowell, of Lincoln, IL, leads the points after
scoring one win earlier this year. Justin Miller, Alex Hatfield,
Chris Tackett, and Shawn Awe round out the top five in a class known
for tight racing and plenty of action.
