Mt. Pulaski Police Chief and Fire
Dept. July 4th Messages
[June 27, 2025]
From Chief West - Mt. Pulaski
Police Department
Dear Mt. Pulaski residents,
July 4th is just around the corner. While we celebrate the
independence of our great country, spend time with family and
friends and watch the fireworks, I wanted to remind everyone of a
couple things. There are many residents that for a variety of
reasons, can not tolerate fireworks and the noise they produce. Many
of our four legged friends do not tolerate this type of noise very
well either.
Also, the City of Mt. Pulaski does have a noise ordinance (6-2-11)
that makes it unlawful to make or cause any noise or sounds of such
volume or nature as to cause annoyance to the residents of the city
or to disturb the peace by making any unnecessary noise. This
section carries a fine of not less than $150.00 and not more than
$750.00.
To make this 4th of July safe and enjoyable for everyone, I am
asking that we leave the fireworks to the professionals. Have a
great 4th and God Bless America
