The American Legion Post 263 held their annual
Memorial Day Celebration on Monday. The sun
shone bright overhead as guest speaker Ron Otto talked
of the nature of Memorial Day and serving one's
country.
The honor guard fired a 3-volley salute and Taps
was played in remembrance of those who have given the
greatest sacrifice to their country.

On
Tuesday, May 20th, the Logan County Board
appointed Kevin Knauer to the vacant
District 3 position left open after Julie
Bobell resigned.
Knauer
said, “I take it as an honor that I was
picked by the board members to serve
District 3. I’m very familiar with Mt.
Pulaski, Lake Fork, Chestnut, Latham, Beason,
all those areas. I think I can represent not
only them well, but the entire county.”
