Mt. Pulaski starts season, Maroa-Forsyth Thanksgiving Tournament, 2-0

Mount Pulaski kicks off season with 60-15 win over Unity Christian


The Mount Pulaski Toppers opened their 2025-26 season at the Maroa-Forsyth Thanksgiving Tournament on Monday night and they quickly demolished Decatur Unity Christian 60-15.

Mount Pulaski poured in 30 points in the first quarter. Alyson Murphy led the charge with 16 points and Addison Brown tossed in a quick eight points. Mount Pulaski’s lead at the end of one quarter was 30-2.

A balanced attack in the second quarter allowed Mount Pulaski to take a 45-8 lead. Murphy and Ella Martin each dropped five points here.

Mount Pulaski stretched their third quarter lead to 56-12 as Audrey Cooper led the way with five points.

Mackenzie Johnston tossed in four points in the final quarter as Toppers notched victory no. 1 by a final score of 60-15.

Alyson Murphy led Mount Pulaski with 25 points.

Addison Brown hit double-digits with 10 points.

Tuesday: Mount Pulaski on a roll with 60-24 win over Argenta-Oreana

The Mount Pulaski Toppers are now 2-0 in the Maroa-Forsyth Thanksgiving Tournament.

On Tuesday night Mount Pulaski thumped Argenta-Oreana 60-24.

Mount Pulaski strutted out to a 31-5 lead in the first quarter. Who was hot and who was not? Hot: Mount Pulaski’s Addison Brown started with 11 points and Audrey Cooper made 10 points in the first quarter. Alyson Murphy was still sizzlin’ with six points. Olivia Smith and Ella Martin each scored two points. Not hot: the Bombers.

Things got worse for the Bombers in the second quarter as they put up a dismal four points and Mount Pulaski stretched the lead a bit to 45-9 at the half.

By the time the third quarter closed Mount Pulaski was up 60-17 and that was pretty much the game.

The Toppers took it easy on the Bombers in the fourth quarter and after they scored seven points, the final score of 60-24 was reached.

Addison Brown had herself a game with 22 points to lead Mount Pulaski. That included six 3s for Brown.

Alyson Murphy tossed in 13 points and Audrey Cooper finished with 10 points.

Mount Pulaski will play the hosts on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.
