Mount Pulaski defeats Maroa-Forsyth

The Mount Pulaski Toppers improved to 3-0 in the Maroa-Forsyth
Thanksgiving Tournament with a 58-42 win over the hosts on Thursday
night.
Alyson Murphy poured in nine of the team’s twelve first quarter
points as Mount Pulaski held a 12-11 advantage over the Trojans at
the end of one quarter.
The Toppers drained six 3s in the second quarter to stretch the lead
to 36-20. Addison Brown led the team with 13 points, including three
3s. Elayna Marten also connected for three 3s for Mount Pulaski.
Murphy and Marten led the team in the third quarter with five points
apiece and the lead grew to 50-31.
The Toppers cruised to the 58-42 win in the fourth quarter with
Murphy adding a couple more buckets and finishing with a
team-leading 18 points.
Addison Brown and Elayna Marten each poured in 16 points as the
Toppers finished the tournament co-champions with Tri-Valley.
According to Mount Pulaski coach Ryan McVickers a team dropped out
of the tournament late so there was not a true champion. Both Mount
Pulaski and Tri-Valley had 3-0 records in the tournament.

The Toppers will play at Pawnee next Tuesday night.
The JV will tip-off at 6:00 p.m. The Varsity will start around 7:30
p.m.
