LCHS sends boys and girls to sectionals, MPHS finishes second at Tomahawk meet

Boys ready to tee off at sectionals

Three members of the LCHS boys golf team are advancing to the IHSA Class 2A Boys Golf Sectional Monday in Bloomington.

Carson Fuiten, Tate Aue and Carter Fuiten each qualified at the IHSA Class 2A Regional last week at the Macomb Country Club in Macomb.

Carson Fuiten, a senior, shot 85.

Aue, a junior, shot 84.

Carter Fuiten, a freshman, shot 83.

As a team the Lincoln boys placed sixth in their regional with a score of 337.

Henry Stoltzenburg (85), Brett Hayes (88) and Kamdin Horn (117) rounded out the regional team.

The Fuiten brothers and Tate Aue will tee off at the Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington Monday morning.

Three members of the LCHS girls golf team are advancing to the IHSA Class 1A Girls Golf Sectional Monday in Champaign.

Norah Block, Annily Eimer and Malina Luckhart each qualified at the IHSA Class 1A Regional last week at Lincolnshire Fields Country Club in Champaign.

Eimer, a sophomore, shot 108.

Block, a junior, shot 111.

Luckhart, a junior, shot 112.

As a team the Lincoln girls placed fifth in their regional with a score of 448.

Kate Farnam (117) and Marin Luckhart (124) rounded out the regional team.

Block, Eimer and Luckhart will tee off at the University of Illinois Blue Course in Savoy Monday morning.

The girls are coached by John Andrews.

Toppers finish second at the Tomahawk Conference Meet

The Mount Pulaski golf team finished in second place at the Tomahawk Conference Meet at the Highland Park Golf Course in Bloomington last week.

The Delavan Panthers finished in first place.

The Toppers set a new team low score of 335 at the meet.

Carter Clark finished in fourth place with a personal best of 78.

Franklin Wade finished in fifth place with a personal best of 80.

Aaron Kuznik finished with an 82.

Clay Leonard shot a 95.

Tyler Lowe had a personal best of 99.

Clark and Wade each earned a medal at the meet.

The Toppers played at the IHSA Class 1A Regionals at the Highland Park Golf Course on Wednesday and unfortunately no one qualified for sectionals.

As a team the Toppers placed 12th.

Kuznik (87), Clark (91), Wade (89), Leonard (96) and Lowe (106) made up the team that placed 12th at regionals.

The Toppers are coached by Brooke Charron with Jan Bowers as the assistant coach.
