Lincoln Rotary discontinues Citrus
Fundraiser
[October 09, 2025]
It was with much deliberation
that the Lincoln Rotary Club has decided to discontinue the citrus
fruit sales fundraiser. This fundraiser has been a staple for Rotary
and our community for over 35 years. But with the climbing costs of
the fruit and shipping, as well as the environmental circumstances
that have led to questionable fruit quality in recent years; the
club has decided to move in alternative directions to raise funds
for community projects.
“This decisions didn’t come lightly.” Said current fundraising
Co-chair Michelle Bauer. “We didn’t want to have to push additional
costs to our customers but had to be realistic about the amount of
time, energy, and resources needed to make this happen. After
weighing all of those factors, we felt like we could continue to
support our community projects using alternative fundraising
methods.”
