            [October 29, 2025]
            On October 22, Logan County
Pride hosted a Halloween-themed “Frightfully Fabulous Pride Meet N
Greet” at Sir Renna Tea in downtown Lincoln, blending sweet treats,
boba tea, and colorful community spirit. The event, held from 5 to 7
p.m., invited attendees to wear costumes, meet Pride board members,
and enjoy an evening of conversation and connection.

Despite the cool autumn air, attendees of the event lingered outside
chatting about the organization’s mission and local outreach. Logan
County Pride Board Member at Large and Lincoln Ward 2 Alderman Sam
Downs said the event aimed to “create a symbiotic relationship
between our organization and the downtown businesses of Lincoln.” He
added that the evening provided “an outlet to answer any questions
people might have about our organization” and to encourage potential
			members to get involved.

Downs, accompanied by fellow board member Alayna Moore, welcomed
guests with smiles and Halloween spirit. Both were dressed in
costume—joined by Downs’ small dog, Shorty, dubbed the group’s
“chief officer of cuddles and snacks.” Shorty, shy but popular,
sported a tiny triceratops outfit that earned plenty of attention
			and photos from visitors.

Guests were treated to free T-shirts, candy—including Sour Patch
Kids and Swedish Fish—pins, and cheerful conversation, with many
lingering at tables long after their snacks were gone. Moore said
she appreciated how the event encouraged genuine community feedback.
“It’s a good way to meet and greet with other people and find out
what their input is and what they want within our community,” she
said. “We support the local people that support us, and that’s the
			most important thing.”

The meet and greet also celebrated collaboration with Sir Renna Tea,
a beloved local business owned by Eileen Mullins since 2016. Mullins
said she was proud to host the group, adding, “I feel like I need to
support you guys—part of our community.” Known for its cozy
atmosphere and creative offerings, Sir Renna Tea serves over 250
types of artisan teas, along with bubble tea, candles, jewelry,
boutique clothing, Route 66 souvenirs, and other unique finds.

Guests sipped on bubble tea—sweet cream tea served with chewy
tapioca pearls—and shared stories as the sun set on attendees
and Halloween decorations. Mullins said this was her third time
hosting a meet and greet with Logan County Pride and noted that
each one “goes by fast—just hanging out with friends, and new
				friends now.”

As stated on their website, Logan County Pride was founded to
support the “LGBTQIA2S+ community of Logan County” and promotes
equality, diversity, and inclusion through educational, social,
and health initiatives. The group hopes that events like the
Frightfully Fabulous Meet N Greet will strengthen local ties and
inspire more residents to get involved.

As Downs put it, the evening was about visibility and belonging:
“We’re a small but mighty organization,” he said. “We wanted to
provide a service for the community to come meet us and other
				like-minded individuals.”

By the end of the night, as guests packed up leftover candy, it
was clear that Logan County Pride had accomplished just that—a
night of sweetness, connection, and community pride, sharing one
cup of boba tea at a time.
