offers catering and room rental

Remember being in school and
your teacher may have asked "what do you want to be when you grow
up?" Cassie "MamaCass" Young always gave the same answer during her
grade school years: A Cake Decorator. She finally followed through,
just a little later in life.
Cassie is the owner and operator of
The Room at 103, a sister business to Ollies Diner & Candy Shoppe of
New Holland. Her catering career began with Sweets. "I decided to do
Christmas candy orders to help offset Christmas gifts for my three
kids. I told myself if I made enough to cover the expenses of the
Holiday, I would do it again next year. It continued to grow each
year, and I ended up opening Mamas Munchies. Now we cover every
Holiday between Halloween to Independence Day, along with lots of
events." Rolling into her 16th year in the catering business, she
looks back on all the events she has catered. "We have helped SO
many people celebrate life achievements such as anniversaries,
weddings, and graduations, but we have also helped those in a time
of need and loss for celebrations of life, military family's days of
remembrance, and going away festivities for those moving on to
better their lives. Then there is everything in between! Birthdays,
baby showers, bridal showers, bachelorette and bachelor parties,
holiday catering, business Christmas parties, and the list goes on.
Our motto is WE PLAN, YOU PARTY. It's been a pleasure thus far,
because we know life is really busy for a lot of people."
Cassie might have begun her catering career 16 years ago, but has
been in the food and service industry for 30 years, in one form or
another. Currently she owns Ollies Diner & Candy Shoppe which is
open 7am - 2pm Tuesday through Saturday. After a major health scare
in January, she had to delete dinner service hours, but has recently
been discussing opening back up on the weekends just for that. "My
health is back on track, it's Harvest time, and these two businesses
work great hand in hand," states Cassie. "The Room at 103 is right
next door and is easy access for our kitchen to provide on and off
premises catering. Our full catering menu provides options for all
kinds of events, and with the Holidays nearing it's always our
busiest time of year."
Cassie would like to thank the support of her customers, past,
present, and future. "Small businesses are barely scraping by with
our current economy and overhead costs, so each customer is very
important to us. We know that word of mouth is our best AND worst
advertisement, and we strive for repeat business."
