Lincoln Community Theatre will
host live music and dancing featuring River Valley Big Band

Lincoln Community Theatre is
excited to announce a new event! Join us at the Lincoln Park
District ballroom on September 27 for live music from River Valley
Big Band followed by deejayed Broadway hits for a great night of
music and dancing! The evening includes a free swing dance lesson at
5:30 p.m., free refreshments, and lots of fun! Entry is free!
River Valley Big Band, a 16-piece big band from central Illinois,
will perform swing classics from the 1920’s through today from 6
p.m. to 8 p.m. and social dancing will continue from 8 until 10 p.m.
with a curated playlist of Broadway showtune favorites. No tickets
or reservations are required. Donations are welcome to support
Lincoln Community Theatre’s mission to promote quality,
family-friendly community theater and youth education in the theater
arts in Logan County. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Ballroom Basics
dance lessons taught by event co-host Jon Young of Young Dance,
Inc. will also be offered in the Lincoln Park District ballroom
on September 27 from 3 to 5 p.m. A Waltz lesson will be from 3
to 4 p.m. and a Rumba lesson from 4 to 5 p.m. The cost is $30
per couple, which covers both lessons. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.
