Fitz-a-Palooza, Colorectal Cancer
research fundraiser, to take place first weekend in October
[September 22, 2025]
Join us on October 3rd and 4th
for two days of good friends, fun, and raising money for Colorectal
Cancer research and treatment.
The event is hosted by the
Fitzpatrick family in memory of Joe Fitzpatrick and Joni Marten.
After Joni was diagnosed in June 2013, a group of family and friends
participated in the Undy 5K in Peoria. A few years later Joe was
diagnosed with colon cancer and unfortunately lost his battle in
April 2017. Joni lost her battle in April 2020 after a remarkable 7
year cancer journey.
In the past eleven years we have
grown to hold our own event - Fitz-a-Palooza in our hometown of
Lincoln. We do this to honor Joe and Joni but to also help all those
affected by colorectal cancer in Logan County. 100% of the proceeds
will benefit the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. They are the leader in
supporting those affected by colorectal cancer, creating awareness
about early detection and funding research.
