Lincoln Woman’s Club hosts
domestic violence awareness expo
[September 23, 2025]
In recognition of the General
Federation of Women’s Club’s (GFWC) International Day of Service,
Lincoln Woman’s Club will be hosting a Domestic Violence Awareness
Expo on Saturday, September 27th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the
Lincoln Woman’s Club Building, 230 N. McLean Street, Lincoln,
Illinois. Everyone is invited to attend.
The purpose of this expo is to provide information on the problem of
domestic violence in the world, our country and our community and to
showcase those organizations that exist to help those in domestic
violence situations in our area. Organizations will be represented
to provide information regarding services available and local
resources.
Visitors are welcome to come and learn about these organizations.
The club will also be accepting donations of old cell phones, which
will be sent to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence
where they turn them into donations to support their cause.
Donations of gently used or new stuffed animals will also be
accepted. These will be donated to Sojourn Shelter and Services
Center in Springfield, which services Logan County.
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC,) with which the
Lincoln Woman’s Club is affiliated, is united in its dedication to
volunteer community service. For the third consecutive year, the
2025 GFWC International Day of Service (GFWC IDS), formerly the GFWC
National Day of Service, is scheduled on Saturday, September 27, to
help end domestic and sexual violence across the United States and
internationally.
