Mount Pulaski walks past Midwest Central 7-1

[April 17, 2026]  The Hilltoppers drew eleven walks on Thursday afternoon as they downed the Midwest Central Raiders 7-1 in a Tomahawk Conference matchup in Mount Pulaski.  

 

Mount Pulaski scored three times in the first inning on just one hit and two walks. Jaeden Jackson had the only base hit that scored a run. The Hilltoppers also scored on a passed ball and a wild pitch.

In the third inning the Hilltoppers crossed home plate four more times. This time the team drew seven walks in the inning without a hit to take a 7-0 lead.

A double, a balk and a sacrifice fly put the Raiders on the board in the top of the fourth inning with their only run of the game.

Both teams scattered hits here and there the remainder of the game, but no one else scored.

Carter Clark got the win for Mount Pulaski. He threw six innings, giving up four hits and one run. He walked two and struck out four batters.

Jaeden Jackson pitched an inning in relief, allowing one hit and two walks. He struck out one batter.

The Hilltoppers six hits were courtesy of Chase Roberts, Preston Cowan, Jaeden Jackson, Caden Wyler, Keoni Charron and Tucker Fitzpatrick.

Tyler Cross led the team with three walks and three stolen bases.

Ryan Terrill was the losing pitcher for Midwest Central.

Mount Pulaski (8-4) will host Riverton on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
