Rochester tops Lady Railers 4-2

[April 25, 2026]  The Rochester Rockets beat Lincoln 4-2 Friday night on the softball field in Rochester.
 
The Rockets scored twice in the bottom of the first inning and added single runs in the third and fourth innings to take a 4-0 lead.    

 

Lincoln got on the board in the top of the sixth inning with two runs. Morgan Sheley singled to lead off the inning and she moved to second on the sacrifice bunt by Sage Gilbert. Grey Gilbert followed in the order with a base hit to center that scooted past the fielder. Sheley scored on the two-base error while Gilbert made it all the way to third base. Laurynn Mayberry hit a sacrifice fly that allowed Gilbert to score, trimming the lead to 4-2.

Lincoln was retired in order in the top of the seventh inning.

Norah Block took the loss for Lincoln. Block threw six innings, allowing ten hits and four runs. Only two of the runs were earned. Block struck out four batters.

Grey Gilbert, Addy Mahler, Emma Hutchison, Preslee Sherren and Morgan Sheley each had a hit for Lincoln.

Mylie Deatherage was the winning pitcher for Rochester.

Lincoln (12-11) will play at Dunlap today at 10:00 a.m.
