Jacksonville Routt blanks Hilltoppers 3-0

[April 29, 2026]  Mount Pulaski traveled to Jacksonville on Tuesday to take on the Routt Catholic Rockets and Hilltoppers bats just never got going in the 3-0 loss.
 
Mount Pulaski scattered five hits in the game, with two of them coming in the first inning, but could not get the offense going enough to score any runs.   

 

Preston Cowan, Luke Martin, Jaeden Jackson, Tyler Cross and Tucker Fitzpatrick each had hits for Mount Pulaski. Fitzpatrick had a double in the top of the third inning.

The Rockets scored a run on an RBI triple in the first inning.

In the bottom of the third inning the Rockets scored a run on an RBI double.

A lead-off home run in the bottom of the sixth inning by Anson Butcher gave the Rockets a 3-0 lead and with one more at-bat for the Hilltoppers, the game was out of reach on this chilly day.

Luke Martin took the loss for Mount Pulaski. He surrendered nine hits and three runs. He walked one and struck out six.

Jacob Brown was the winning pitcher for the Rockets. He pitched the complete game shutout, allowing one walk and striking out seven Hilltoppers.

Mount Pulaski (11-6) will play at LeRoy on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
