Stags finish in second place in
2026 Crusader Classic

The Hartsburg-Emden Stags are off to a great start to their
volleyball season.
On Saturday the Stags took second place in the Springfield Lutheran
Crusader Classic that was held at Chatham Glenwood.
Once again the Stags, with an enrollment of 43 students, faced much
larger opponents. Notably, the Stags played Chatham Glenwood for the
championship and fell in two sets, 13-25 and 20-25. The Titans have
an enrollment of 1,487 students.
Prior to the championship match the Stags had earned a 4-0 record in
tournament play.
Cambelle Hopkins and Emma Eeten were named to the All-Tournament
team.
The Stags defeated Warsaw 25-14 and 25-23 in their first game of the
tournament.
Next the Stags defeated the Springfield High JV team 25-12 and
25-11.
In the third match the Stags knocked down Springfield Lutheran 25-12
and 25-8.
In the fourth match it was Hartsburg-Emden winning 25-19 and 25-22
over Metro East.
The Stags improved to 5-1 on the season and they will host Delavan
on Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m.
