Lady Railers fall to Pleasant
Plains 42-35
[January 08, 2026]
The Lady Railers sure tried to give Pleasant Plains their
first loss of the season on Wednesday night at Roy S. Anderson
Gymnasium, but the Cardinals managed to keep Lincoln down by about
five or six points nearly the entire game. When it was all said and
done the Cardinals remained undefeated with a 42-35 win.
Anna Weber led the Cardinals with 19 points.
Mia Clark led Lincoln with 14 points.
First quarter
Lincoln got down early 4-0 and didn’t score until Grey Gilbert’s
basket in the lane. Lily Holmes scored the next basket for the Lady
Railers, who still found themselves down 8-4. With Bailey Leach
sinking a three, the Cardinals were on top 13-4. Mesa McCloud
responded with a three to trim the lead to 13-7 and that would be
the first quarter score.

Second quarter
Mia Clark’s three in the second quarter was a boost but still the
Cardinals remained in front 15-10. The score quickly reached 17-10
but then the Lady Railers put together a 7-0 run. Grace Schneider
started the scoring with a free throw and Clark and McCloud followed
with 3s. It was a tie ballgame with 4:50 remaining in the quarter.
But Plains found a way to jump in front again. Weber and Leach
combined to put the Cardinals up 23-17. Schneider would score one
more field goal for Lincoln before the half as the Cardinals
stretched the lead to 28-19.
Third quarter
The Lady Railers managed to close the gap to four points here,
trailing 31-27 after Grace Bivin sank two free throws, McCloud hit a
three and Clark dropped in one free throw. The Cardinals hit one
more free throw before the quarter ended and Lincoln still had a
small mountain to climb, trailing 33-27.
Fourth quarter
Lincoln managed just eight points in the final quarter, with Clark
having seven of those points. Meanwhile the Cardinals stayed on
course, winning by seven. A highlight for the visitors was when
Bailey Leach scored her 1,000th career point at the free throw near
the end of the game. After Clark’s successful drive to the basket,
the Lady Railers had to settle for the 42-35 loss.
