Mount Pulaski Lady Toppers now 17-0
with win over Cardinals

The Mount Pulaski Lady Toppers enjoyed a 66-28 win in The
Birdcage on Monday night in Warrensburg.
Mount Pulaski allowed the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals a couple
brief leads early in the first quarter but once Addison Brown put
the Lady Toppers up 7-5 with a three, it was time to pour in the
buckets. Alyson Murphy scored ten points in the first quarter and
Mount Pulaski finished with a 19-7 lead.
Murphy opened the second quarter with a three and followed that with
a couple free throws and a jumper in the lane. In a blink of an eye
the Lady Toppers lead was 26-9. After Brown scored the next six
points, Mount Pulaski was up 32-17. Audrey Cooper’s two free throws
before the half set the score at 34-17.
Six Lady Toppers scored in the third quarter, with Brown and Claire
Bobell each making a three. The team had nonstop buckets, pouring in
27 points and increasing the lead to 61-25. Cooper led the team with
seven points in the third quarter.
Ella Martin scored Mount Pulaski’s five points in the fourth quarter
as the Lady Toppers ran the clock on the Cardinals, picking up the
66-28 win fairly fast.
Three Lady Toppers hit double-figures: Alyson Murphy (23), Addison
Brown (14) and Elayna Marten (10).
Mount Pulaski continues to dominate the competition and improve
their record to 17-0.
The Cardinals won the JV game 55-33 over Mount Pulaski.
Mackenzie Johnston led Mount Pulaski with 11 points.
The Lady Toppers next game is this Saturday versus Nokomis. The JV
game will start at 1:00 p.m. and the Varsity game will follow.
