Applications now open for grants supporting local nonprofits serving seniors and women

[January 13, 2026]  The Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln is now accepting applications for TWO competitive grant opportunities designed to support local nonprofit organizations serving seniors and women. Applications for both grant cycles are available online here:

King’s Daughters Organization Endowment Fund

The King’s Daughters Organization (KDO) Endowment Fund supports programs and services that enhance the quality of life and address the unmet needs of adults age 55 and older living in Sangamon County. Now in its 19th year of grantmaking, the Fund has awarded more than $2 million to local charitable organizations since its inception.

Eligible nonprofit organizations serving seniors in Sangamon County are encouraged to apply by February 6, 2026. Grant applications will be reviewed, and selected organizations will be invited to participate in interviews with the grant committee in early April. Grant award notifications will be made by late April. Awards will range from $2,500 to $25,000, depending on the availability of funds.

The Women’s Fund

The Women’s Fund is a permanent endowment built through annual contributions from Women for Women members to increase awareness and address the needs of women or women and children in Cass, Christian, Logan, Macoupin, Menard, Morgan, Montgomery, and/or Sangamon counties.

This year, The Women’s Fund will award grants ranging from $30,000 to $70,000 to nonprofit organizations addressing the most pressing issues facing local women or women and children. Since its establishment in 2007, Women for Women has awarded more than $680,000 to programs benefiting women in the region.

Eligible organizations are invited to submit a letter of inquiry by February 13, 2026. Letters will be reviewed, and selected organizations will be invited to submit a full grant proposal in March. Final grant awards will be announced in May.

For questions about either grant opportunity, contact the Community Foundation at info@CFLL.org or 217.789.4431. Local nonprofits may also sign up on the Foundation’s website to receive email notifications about future grant opportunities.
