Lincoln Park District Celebrates
America’s 250th Birthday
[July 06, 2026]
The heat and humidity did not
stop Lincoln from celebrating America’s 250th birthday on Friday
evening at the Lincoln Park District. They hosted several
family-friendly activities, food trucks, and fireworks.

A flag hung high above the crowd
from a Lincoln firetruck. Firefighters were around to greet the
crowd. Music was playing in the background by Jeffrey Bowen Music-
Dueling Pianos. They were playing patriotic music and summer-themed
tunes. There was a crowd of people dancing on the concrete pad in
front of them, and some were gathered in lawn chairs to listen while
they waited for the fireworks.

Down the walkway, several food
trucks were parked. Boomer’s BBQ, Cheesed Out, and Lincolnland
Catering were offering barbeque sandwiches, cheesy goodness, and
corn dogs. The park district concession stand sold sodas and chips,
and they were also offering free popsicles. Brew 66 was offering
refreshing drinks like sunrise lemonade and tropical root beer. We
Three Sweets was offering their specialty quenchers and sweet
treats.

There were also vendors with Fourth
of July-themed T-shirts and glow sticks. Lincoln Park District had a
booth with t-shirts, free popcorn, and a large coloring table. On
the lawn, there were large lawn games like giant Jenga, bags, and
pickleball, among others. Face painting and glitter were available
from Holly from the Farm. There was a line waiting for Holly to
paint and bedazzle the young faces in the crowd. The Unique Twist
featured balloon animals of all shapes and sizes and had a large
patriotic balloon dog outside their tent. There was also quite a
lineup of children waiting to get a balloon buddy. Children were
also enjoying the bounce houses and foam party by Cdubs Funhouse.
Around 9:15 p.m., the crowd stood
for the national anthem, and a few moments later, the first firework
flew through the night sky. The fireworks show by American Patriot
Pyro lasted approximately 30 minutes. The crowd cheered loudly after
an awe-striking grand finale closed out the show. Anyone leaving the
show and driving through the downtown square could enjoy the
patriotic display of red, white, and blue illuminating the
courthouse.
