The Turks started their half of the second inning with a double
and plated two runs thanks to an error and a wild pitch.
The Turks added an RBI single by Ava Berry in the third inning
to stretch the lead to 3-1.
Sage Gilbert scored the Lady Railers second run in the fourth
inning. She singled to lead off the inning and stole second. A
wild pitch allowed her to move to third and she scored on a
fielder’s choice.
Genesis Stuber doubled for the second time in the game in the
bottom of the fifth inning and drove in the game’s final run.
Lincoln out-hit the Turks seven to six but lost the game 4-2.
Sage Gilbert led Lincoln with two hits.
Grey Gilbert, Laurynn Mayberry, Norah Block, Preslee Sherren and
Emma Hutchison each had one hit for Lincoln.
Laurynn Mayberry took the loss for Lincoln. She worked two and
two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and three runs. She
walked one and struck out three.
Norah Block pitched the final three and one-third innings. She
allowed three hits and one run. She walked one and struck out
three.
None of the runs were earned.
Lincoln committed five errors.
Maddie Feagin was the winning pitcher for Tremont.
Lincoln will play at Jacksonville on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
