Jacksonville’s big inning crushes Railsplitters 10-3

[March 25, 2026]  The Lincoln Railsplitters hosted Jacksonville on Tuesday afternoon and it was a six-run fourth inning that allowed the Crimson to breeze to a 10-3 win on Mike Curry Field.
 
The Crimson scored a run in the first inning after a double, walk and a single.  

 

Lincoln tied the game in the bottom of the first when Grady Rutledge tripled with one out and he scored on a base hit by Austin Lucas.

The Crimson took a 3-1 lead in the second inning.

In the bottom of the third inning the Railsplitters tied the game on two singles and a Crimson error. Austin Lucas and Owen Comstock each singled with two outs to start the rally. Lucas scored on Comstock’s single. Comstock scored on the Crimson’s error.

The Crimson exploded for six runs in the fourth inning. Six singles and three walks led the offense for Jacksonville.

The Crimson added to the 9-3 lead in the seventh inning. An RBI single set the final score at 10-3.

The Railsplitters had no chance against AJ Charpentier in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Jacksonville starter struck out the side on nine pitches to end the game.

Charpentier was the winning pitcher, going the distance and allowing just four hits and two earned runs. He walked one and struck out fourteen.

Carson Fuiten (1-1) took the loss for Lincoln. Fuiten worked three and one-third innings, giving up ten hits. He allowed nine runs and two walks. He struck out four batters.

Austin Lucas pitched three and two-thirds innings, giving up three hits and one earned run. He walked four and struck out three.

Austin Lucas was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for Lincoln.

Grady Rutledge and Owen Comstock accounted for the other two Lincoln hits.

Lincoln (3-1) will host Dunlap on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
