Railsplitters crush Spartans 15-0
[May 13, 2026]
Bryce Vlahovich and Tate Aue combined for a no-hitter on
Tuesday as the Lincoln Railsplitters crushed the Southeast Spartans
15-0.
A slew of Railsplitters had multiple hits against the Spartans but
only one player, Grady Rutledge, had a home run.
Rutledge hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the fourth
inning. This is the first home run for the freshman who has had a
really good Varsity season.
Karson Komnick led the Railsplitters at the top of the lineup with
three hits. Komnick hit two doubles and a single, driving in two
runs and scoring twice.
Austin Lucas also had two hits and two runs scored while driving in
a run.
Grady Rutledge added a double to go with his home run. He scored
three times and had two RBIs.
Owen Comstock also had two hits, one was a double. He scored three
times and drove in one run.
Chase March kept pace with two hits and he scored a run and drove in
a run.
Bryce Vlahovich and Brett Hayes each had one hit.
Vlahovich belted a triple in the sixth inning that drove in two
runs.
Cooper Koehler walked twice, scored twice and got credit for one
RBI.

Bryce Vlahovich earned the win by tossing five and one-third
innings. He struck out ten Spartans. He did not allow a hit.
Neither did Tate Aue, who pitched to two batters in the bottom of
the sixth inning. Aue struck out both batters.
Lincoln scored in five of the six innings played in Springfield on
Tuesday afternoon. The big inning came at the end of the game.
[to top of second column] |

Lincoln plated two runs in the top of the first
inning.
Karson Komnick jumped on the second pitch of the game and sent it
flying to left field for a double. He scored the first run on a
passed ball. After Grady Rutledge walked and stole second, Owen
Comstock knocked him in on a double to right.
Lincoln scored three more runs in the top of the
third inning. Rutledge hit an RBI double and Chase March hit an RBI
single. The Railsplitters also scored on an error.
Rutledge’s home run in the top of the fourth inning came on a 1-0
count and made the score 6-0.
Cooper Koehler scored Lincoln’s run in the top of the fifth inning
thanks to an error by the Spartans.
Lincoln plated eight runs in the sixth inning, burying the Spartans
for good.
Four walks, three singles, a triple and an error put Lincoln in the
win column pretty quickly. Karson Komnick and Austin Lucas had RBI
singles while Vlahovich tripled to right to drive in two runs.
The 15-0 lead was more than enough to end the game early.
The Spartans were retired on strikeouts in the bottom of the sixth
inning.
Lincoln (18-8) will host Pleasant Plains Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
