Hilltoppers defeat Illini Central/Hartsburg-Emden 23-0

[May 18, 2026]  Mount Pulaski crushed the Illini Central Cougars, who co-op with Hartsburg-Emden, on Friday in Mason City.
 
The final score was 23-0.  

 

The Hilltoppers had 27 hits versus Cougars pitching.

The Cougars were no-hit in four innings.

Mount Pulaski scored seven runs to open the game.

Chase Roberts, Jaeden Jackson and Keoni Charron each singled in the inning. Roberts, the lead-off hitter, had two singles in the inning.

Aaron Volle, Carter Clark and Tucker Fitzpatrick each doubled in the first.

In the second inning the Hilltoppers scored thirteen runs on fourteen hits. A two-run double by Tyler Cross was one of the big hits of the inning. Jackson also slugged a two-run double. Clark also hit a double to score a run.

The Hilltoppers hit three more doubles in a three-run third inning. Jackson, Caden Wyler and Keoni Charron all doubled in the inning.

Jackson, Clark and Fitzpatrick each had four hits in the game.

Roberts, Volle and Charron each had three hits.

Wyler and Cross had two hits.

Luke Martin and Preston Cowan each had one hit.

Tucker Fitzpatrick was the winning pitcher for Mount Pulaski. He threw three innings, allowing one walk and striking out three batters.

Maddox Johnston worked one inning in relief. He recorded one strikeout.

Mount Pulaski (19-8) will play at PORTA on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
