Lincoln notches 20th win of the season

[May 21, 2026]  The Lincoln Railsplitters picked up their 20th win of the season on Wednesday afternoon in Auburn.

Lincoln beat the Trojans 10-1 as senior Carson Fuiten earned the win.

Bryce Vlahovich and Chase March were the hitting stars of the game for the Railsplitters.

Vlahovich was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. He walked twice.

March was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored.

Auburn’s pitcher was struggling from the start, hitting two batters and walking one in the first inning. An error behind him did not help either. March got the first hit of the game, an RBI single in the inning and Lincoln took a 2-0 lead.

Vlahovich singled to start the third inning and the run he scored increased the lead to 3-0.

Both Vlahovich and March added RBI singles in the top of the fourth inning. Tate Aue also drove in a run on a fielder’s choice to make the score 6-0.

The Railsplitters plated one run in the top of the fifth inning after Kane Komnick hit a single, Karson Komnick walked, Austin Lucas singled and the younger Komnick flew home on a wild pitch.

Two walks and two hit batters in the sixth inning plated another run for Lincoln. This time it was Aue scoring to make the score 8-0.

Auburn finally scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

But Lincoln was back in business in the seventh, scoring two more runs. Vlahovich, March, Aue and Cooper Koehler all had singles, resulting in a 10-1 lead that would hold up in the bottom of the inning.

The Railsplitters had 12 hits in the game, with Vlahovich and March accounting for half of them.

Lucas, Rutledge, Aue, Koehler and the Komnick boys each had one hit.

Four Lincoln pitchers put the in work on the mound versus Auburn.

Carson Fuiten started the game and earned the win. He worked three and one-third innings, giving up three hits and zero runs. He walked two and struck out two.

Tate Aue worked one and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and one walk. He struck out two.

Grady Rutledge threw one inning. He gave up a hit and a run. He walked one and struck out one.

Brett Hayes threw the final inning, allowing two hits and zero runs.

Lincoln (20-9) will play at Decatur MacArthur Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
