Cardinals beat Mount Pulaski 5-3

[May 22, 2026]  The Hilltoppers offense got off to a late start on Thursday in Warrensburg as the Cardinals beat Mount Pulaski 5-3.
 
The Cardinals led 3-0 early.
 
Mount Pulaski scored one run in the top of the fifth inning on a passed ball.

 

In the bottom of the sixth inning the Cardinals went ahead 5-1.

Preston Cowan singled to lead off the top of the seventh inning and Tyler Cross hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 5-3. With no outs in the inning, the Cardinals turned a double play that ruined the Hilltoppers chances for a big inning.

Carter Clark took the loss for Mount Pulaski. He started the game and lasted four innings. He gave up six hits and three runs. He walked two and struck out three batters.

Aaron Volle and Chase Roberts each pitched an inning in relief.

Casen Reynolds was the winning pitcher for the Cardinals.

Preston Cowan, Luke Martin, Jaeden Jackson, Tyler Cross and Carter Clark had the hits for Mount Pulaski.

The Hilltoppers (20-10) will host Maroa-Forsyth on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
