Page 26 2017 WORSHIP GUIDE Wednesday, December 6, 2017 LINCOLN DAILY NEWS PUBLICATION T he well-known Bible verse of John 3:16 can often be heard or spoke without much thought, like quoting a movie line or sports statistic. Let us stop for a moment and truly think about this life changing Scripture. God has always loved us, and He showed His love by doing the unthinkable and most extreme act of love possible. He gave His only Son as a sacrifice for us to make a way for our imperfect selves to one day abide in the perfect place, with a perfect God, covered by a perfect love! This Christmas may we recognize the greatest gift ever given was in God giving us His son, Jesus Christ! God entrusted Mary and Joseph to raise His only son from the vulnerable state of a baby into a young man who would change the world forever. God’s love and trust is still upon us today. God wants each one of us to experience His amazing love demonstrated in the person and sacrifice of His son, Jesus Christ. God also wants to entrust us with a responsibility similar to that of Mary and Joseph. When you receive Jesus, will you strive to walk with Him daily and do His work? Will you answer the call of God to help share this amazing love? Will you strive to reciprocate the love of God back towards Jesus and those He died for on the cross? As we celebrate Christmas this year; may we celebrate God’s love and answer the call to share His love with all! God Bless and Merry Christmas!
