2019 Worship Guide

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:1-5, 9-14 Christmas is about light. I think John’s account is EXACTLY how we will be talking about Christmas in Heaven. It won’t be about when Jesus was BORN. It will be discussed as the time Jesus LEFT heaven. It will be about the time when Jesus was in Heaven, looked at the darkness in the world, and said, “Alright, it’s go time!” It will be a story of relief and thankfulness. There will be no more doubt or question. We won’t be focused on the manger, the shepherds, even the virgin birth. Instead, it will be discussed as the time when we lived in complete darkness with NO hope. And our Rescuer, Jesus, came to bring hope and be the light that we so desperately needed. Merry Christmas!
